I have been slow to update my blog, sorry about that.
My cousin went into surgery last week and when the surgeon went in to remove the tumor, it turns out it wasn't a tumor. He found a large pus pocket in her brain. Very large from the descriptions I have received. It is a streptococcus infection that was originally an ear infection that spread. She went home with a PICC line (a long term IV) and she will be on high dose IV antibiotics for at least six weeks. She is also going to be receiving physical therapy to help overcome some of the disabilities caused by the pressure of the "tumor" in her brain.
It is awesome that everything worked out so well. When she went to surgery, my uncle had been told to say his good-byes because they weren't sure she would make it through. We are all very grateful to the happy ending.
